Frequently Asked Questions

Accessing molecular profiling

What is integrated molecular profiling?

Molecular Profiling is the analysis of your body on a molecular level. Profiles that can be analyzed include your blood metabolites, genetics, environmental exposures and nutrients, blood proteins, and even gut bacteria.

Integrated Molecular Profiling is the integration of multiple molecular profiles to understand your health as a whole. It uses a ‘big picture’ approach to better understand the complex biochemical systems that determine your health, wellness and performance, by looking at the dynamic interactions between all your molecular profiles and how they fit together. Since our biological systems are complex, this approach is far more comprehensive that single molecular profiling, and gives a more precise view of what is actually occurring in the body. Very few companies offer integrated molecular profiling.

What does Molecular You do?

Molecular You integrates your unique molecular health data and lifestyle history with current science to bring you tailored and evidence-based information about your health. With a few vials of your blood, we use integrated molecular profiling to analyze and integrate up to 5 of your molecular profiles in one single health report, such as your blood metabolites, environmental/dietary exposure, blood proteins, and/or genetics. We upload your report to your online account which includes your health data, summary, and customized action plan. You can log in anytime to dig into your own unique molecular profiles, and track your action plan progress, using our interactive and user-friendly platform.

How can I sign up for Molecular You’s health profiling service?

How does Molecular You differ from other profiling services available?

Many companies now offer genetic testing which may indicate your hereditary disease susceptibility, but genetics alone will not paint a detailed picture of your overall health status and risks. Molecular You is the only Canadian company offering a combination of integrated health profiles (such as protein, metabolite, and environmental exposures) to supplement genetic analysis, helping you understand your complex biological systems as a whole. Our research database at Molecular You is updated regularly to ensure you are getting the most current information relevant to you. No other health service platform is this comprehensive and proactive.

Do I need my doctor’s referral for the test?

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral for a test. However, you are encouraged to share your report and action plan with your preferred health practitioner.

Please note: As Molecular You is not a medical or healthcare provider, our scientists are not able to diagnose conditions, offer medical advice, or prescribe medication.

Is my report shared with my family doctor?

Your report will not be shared automatically with your family doctor.

Where is Molecular You health profiling service currently available?

Molecular You is available to anyone in Canada; however, our partner collection sites are only available in Vancouver, Calgary, Markham, Oakville, Mississauga, and Toronto. If you would like to be notified of when a collection site opens closer to you, get in touch with us here.

Can my child take the tests?

Molecular You’s health profiling service is available to people of all ages. Parents/guardians must authorize on behalf of a child to receive the tests and health profiling.

Is my test paid by my health insurance?
