Hereditary cancers

If you purchase the Plus Genetics package, you will have the option to receive information about hereditary cancer risks. This is a personal preference. Not everyone wants to receive this information.

The table below lists hereditary cancers and cancer-predisposing syndromes that are tested in the Plus Genetics add-on. As Molecular You does not offer diagnostic testing, we test for many, but not all, of the possible variants for these cancers.

If you have concerns because of family history, we recommend that you discuss these concerns with a genetic counsellor and with your physician. The Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors has good information about genetic counselling and can help you find your nearest clinic.
